Arriving to PNG! Hisui Village!

So when we arrived in PNG, we were told a PMV (truck) was waiting for us to take us to the village we were supposed to be going to for a week. We were told that the trip to the village was 2 hours, but that 2 hour drive turned into a 6 hour drive! There was major flooding going on and heavy rain falling as we were driving, and the boys had to get out and push the PMV. Good on them! All the PNG people that were with us were amazed, because usually it takes 30 people to push the vehicle, but only 5 of them were pushing it. God was definitely looking out for us! We arrived safely to Hisui Village and were warmly welcomed by the people! :)

Introduction

Hey Everyone!

As most of you know, I am with the organization YWAM. YWAM is a diverse, global, Christian, volunteer, youth-focussed movement from many nations, backgrounds, ages and cultures; sharing their faith through meeting practical, spiritual and physical needs, offering training in more than 800 courses and seminars for service in all spheres of society. YWAM currently operates in over 1000 locations and 149 countries, with over 16,000 staff.

I am doing a DTS (Discipleship Training School) here in Townsville, Australia at the Reef to Outback YWAM base. I have been here since October, and I am going home in March. It is a 6 month program. For the first 2 or so months, we had different speakers coming in and talking to us about certain topics, such as : Relationships, Friendship with Christ, Evangelism...etc. Then for another 2 and a half months we go on our outreach. I went to Papa New Guinea for 1 month and just got back on January 28th! In this blog I am going to give you some highlights on Papa New Guinea and show you some pictures!

Enjoy!!
